Press Release
January 25, 2013
The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) is pleased to announce the endorsement of Los Angeles City Councilmember Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel for Mayor of Los Angeles.
The endorsement process conducted jointly with the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) revealed Greuel and Garcetti to be the outstanding environmental choices to lead Los Angeles with the expiration of Mayor Villaraigosa’s term this spring. Both candidates share a vision of clean sustainable jobs as the key to a healthy, sustainable future for all of Los Angeles. CLCV believes the election of either Wendy Greuel or Eric Garcetti will ensure the continued improvement of Los Angeles’ public health, transportation infrastructure, sustainable economic progress and expansion of public parks.
The Los Angeles mayoral primary will be held March 5, 2013. If no candidate receives a majority, the top two finishers will advance to the May 21, 2013 general election. For more information on the election, visit the LA County Clerk’s website at http://lavote.net/.
